Who the heck are we?
Hi! We're Forget the Funnel. đ We created the Customer-Led Growth⢠Framework. Then we wrote the book on it.â¨
We're a boutique product marketing & growth consultancy. We can help your SaaS or subscription business drive more predictable, meaningful revenue through...
- Differentiated positioning & messaging that helps your product cut through the noise
- Reduced churn
- Higher product adoption and long-term product engagement
- Increased conversions along your customers' journey
Helping SaaS teams stop guessing & be more customer-led is our jam. â¨
The Customer-Led Growth⢠Framework is our proven, battle-tested method for predictable recurring revenue.
âAdoption was okay, but it was time to really kickstart & level up.â
"Working with Claire & Gia was invaluable in identifying who our best customers are and how to reach and resonate with more of them. Working with them doesnât just give you rich customer insights. It provides you with actionable steps to take, critical changes to make, content and processes to improveâall geared toward improving customersâ experience and increasing the value your product provides."
âOur product replaces an old way of hiring with a better, automated way. I was selling it easily in 1:1 meetings, but our website was falling flat. We knew we were onto something big, but we needed to figure out how to package our product on the website.â
We tried so many different tactics to acquire new customers. LinkedIn campaigns, a couple of partnerships, guest blog posts...but we were guessing. Knowing what to focus on is hard when there are so many ways to go about marketing. Having insight into who our best customers are (so we can target our approach to them) gives us a new level  of peace of mind. Having a blueprint for what to do and what to aim at, thatâs a big advantage.
With lofty goals for our PLG offering we needed to have a shared language and cross-functional understanding of the broad set of users in our customer base. Forget The Funnel helped us rethink the way that we're doing product marketing, along with how we're going to market between all of the different disciplines across Bitly. It's only been a month and a half and we're already seeing results; our new product page is generating more demand than any other page on our site and we're revamping our entire onboarding sequence and seeing great results. Most importantly, we're starting to think about execution as one collective team, across marketing, product, CS and sales.
Customer data in the aggregate is important, but we encountered limitations. In the aggregate, you simply canât get close enough to your customers to understand the nuance and subtle details that actually matter a lot. Without that nuance, you have to make a lot of assumptions.
Enter Forget The Funnel, and our perspective shifted. It wasn't about turning away from data or experimentation; it was about elevating them both. By integrating nuanced customer insights, we not only continued our data-driven approach but also amplified the effectiveness of our experiments, aligning them more closely with the diverse needs of our customer base.
Wow, this is WAY more comprehensive than I was expecting!
This is super cool. I love template-heavy resources like this. Yâall made something great.
Sweet Baby Jane this thing is massive â itâs another book!! Please tell me youâre going to charge for this.
The ROI on Forget the Funnel's advisory will be there in spades with every decision we make moving forward. During her time as our marketing & growth advisor, Beth helped us frame critical principles across the business that we'll re-use and share companywide. The tools she equipped us with are a forcing function to keep us in service to our best customers. In just 3 months, Beth left us smarter than we were before.
My team paid tens of thousands of dollars to work with Claire and Gia, and we earned every dollar back tenfold.
This book elevates marketing from a sum of tactics to the strategic process it deserves to be. Implementing the Customer-Led Growth Framework democratizes customer understanding, creates a shared language for your team, and unlocks the best ideasâbecause youâre unlocking all of the brains at your company. Itâll be my go-to playbook for years to come.
Forget the Funnel is a must-read book for anyone who wants to unlock explosive growth for their business. Itâs especially true for PLG companies because you canât be truly product-led if youâre not first customer-led.
In this book, Gia and Claire reveal the step-by-step and battle-tested framework that theyâve used at Unbounce, Calendly, FullStory, Wistia, and more. This book will inspire and equip you with actionable steps to take, critical changes to make, and processes to improve all geared to deliver a world-class customer experience. Donât just buy just one book. Buy it for your team, your whole company, and any colleagues you want to succeed!
Some things are greater than the sum of their parts, and the Customer-Led Growth Framework Gia and Claire have built is one of them. Combining their backgrounds and years of expertise into one repeatable process is like 1 + 1 = 3. An essential read for anyone in charge of growing & scaling a business.
Everyone has an instinct around listening to your customers and learning to leverage their insights in your product. But itâs only after reading Gia & Claireâs book that you come away with the full process. Those who do it will have a measurable advantage over those who are winging it.
This is the new gold standard and the questions in chapter three will be memorized by product and product marketing teams from now on. Iâm going to have to give this book to every product team I lead and every coaching client I have.
Taking a customer-focused approach to growth sounds like common senseâbut there arenât many resources that actually unpack the process of HOW to do it.
Forget The Funnel gives leaders a practical, step-by-step guide to building an impactful, informed growth strategy, and connecting the dots between strategy and their daily work. It also includes dozens of real-life case studies, examples, and concrete ideas you can move on the same day. A very high ROI book.
I just finished reading Chapter 1, and I can tell this book will be so practical - that I can learn from your hands-on experience, codified in an actionable framework. This is what I've been looking for. Thank you so much for writing this book.
We learned so much in our Growth Sprint workshop. The organized structure of the workshop, from processing customer insights to solutions brainstorming, helped align our team quickly. Weâre keen to put Forget The Funnelâs recommendations into action.
I love working with Beth. She is an ideal fractional CMO for founders. She has the ability to provide high-level strategic guidance then jump right into the details and help execute. She's smart, thinks quickly and has a strong bias for getting sh*t done. I will be really unhappy if my testimonial results in her being too busy to work with me.
Beth is our exec team's secret weapon! Just a few coaching hours a month helped turn one of our execs from great into rockstar. She'll tell you and your team what's what and you'll thank her for it. See: Thanks, Beth!
I know how to build great products, but I know very little about great marketing. Gia came on and organized all the work to be done including positioning, messaging, customer onboarding and journey development. It's with her guidance and efforts that we could ensure that our time as an organization was being spent wisely. If you have a full-time marketing person on board who needs strategic guidance, Gia is a very senior talented (and awesome person) to lead your efforts. Hire her if you can.
FTF helped us in 3 major ways: first, we have differentiated positioning & clear messaging to implement across all marketing. Second, we have an action plan for growth backed up by research (which I love)! Third, the Messaging Guide is now our pillar for brand clarity across the whole company. Our workshop was so great. Thank you, team!
Messaging has historically been difficult for us to nail because weâve been so close to our product for so long. FTF gave us the outside perspective we needed. It's a relief to have experts come in and provide fresh recommendations.
What Forget The Funnel did for us in one week would have taken us months to produce ourselves. I can't describe how brilliant it was not only having their guidance on our growth strategy, but also having them do the heavy lifting and handing us all the deliverables needed to execute on a silver platter. That's invaluable at this stage of building a business. Additionally, I'm excited that this work will help every single person in our organization -- including future hires -- understand how to communicate to our customers and prospects and help us grow.
I'm impressed with the depth of analysis and the data that was presented. We respect people with strong points of view, particularly when those points of view are backed by data.
The deliverables Forget The Funnel provides are really strong. The summary of the research is informative, as is the map of how our ideal customers engage with us. These resources are especially helpful as we rapidly bring on new team members.
I was so impressed at the FTF teamâs understanding of our product, and their ability to have meaningful, nuanced discussion about whatâs best for our business.Â
âTheir experience and dedication to making recommendations based on data gave us so much confidence.
I would 110% recommend working with the Forget the Funnel team. I've already recommended them to a few other founders!
This team does a deep dive into your company and establishes all the opportunities youâre currently leaving on the table. Their expertise has brought so much value to us already â and we haven't even finished implementing all their recommendations yet.
You know that feeling after a killer haircut, or kickass workout...you wonder why you don't do it more often!?? That's definitely how I feel about FTF Office Hours. A blow-out for the brain. A mini mastermind.  đ§
A bunch of incredibly smart people discussing real problems, tactics, and solutions together. It's a rare learning opportunity and huuuuge benefit of this awesome community!
I wish weâd hired Claire years earlier. She wouldâve saved us so much time â not only on figuring out what activities to pursue in our marketing, but also on understanding who our real âpower usersâ are, and what actually sets us apart from competitors (in our customers' eyes, not ours). We were making a lot of decisions in the dark. Now, weâre experimenting with messaging based on words straight from our customersâ mouths, and weâre brainstorming marketing campaigns with more confidence than ever before.
I needed to add strategic marketing wisdom to our team. I wanted to grow our sales, and to have a partner with whom I could discuss marketing at a strategic level. I didn't know what I didn't know, and I wanted someone who had been through this before. Gia quickly sized up Tiller and started adding value. She accelerated my own learning curve, helped us hire our marketing lead, and made an outsize impact. She delivered in customer success and helping to develop a company strategy, too. I'd definitely recommend working with Gia, she is quick to add value and will accelerate your marketing smarts. And she's fun to boot!
We were feeling split: pulled in many different directions without clarity on where to focus. After working with Claire, we could clearly see...The types of customers who used our product, what they cared about, and what they were actually interested in buying. The priorities of our best customers, and how we could better communicate the ways we help with those priorities. Ideas for new messaging and copy, which would go on to help us with conversion rates and overall marketing strategy. She is a powerhouse for companies trying to get to that "next milestone" â she'll make you money, while saving you the time of trying to figure out how to do it.
With so many trending & changing priorities like marketing-led, sales-led, product-led, etc, Customer-Led Growth gives us a framework that zeroes in on what successful growth is about: the customer. It showed me how to gather and operationalize customer insights for demand gen. I learned from the experts in the SaaS marketing space, and met some amazing fellow consultants in the process. Beth was awesome and continually helped me improve throughout the program. Thank you Gia, Claire, and Beth!
I am so grateful to have gone through the Customer-Led Growth Certification Program. While in the program, the Forget The Funnel team coached and guided me through the entire process while working on a *real* client project. The feedback, support, and encouragement I received along the way was fantastic. I learned what a Customer-Led Growth strategy is really based on, and how to create âimplementation-readyâ deliverables to help your clients hit the ground running. I highly recommend this program to any consultant who wants to up-skill their research and strategy development.
I 1000% recommend the Customer-Led Growth Certification Program. There is no other program out there where you actively work on a *real* client, get in-depth feedback on your work, learn from fellow consultants, and actually see a final client deliverable come together. It has been the best thing I've done to build my confidence and develop my consulting skills. The dedication of the team, the depth of the training, and the skills learned here will give you a very strong foundation.
If you've ever been told that you need to "be more strategic" when it comes to your work in marketing or growth, this is the antidote. Claire, Gia, and Beth teach a truly unforgettable strategic approach called "Customer-Led Growth". It's a game-changer, and is sure to generate results for any practitioner willing to expand their mind. I canât wait to enroll my team members in future cohorts of the CLG Certification Program as DemandMaven expands.
The conversations I have with exec decision makers are on a totally different scale now, thanks to CLG. This framework has given me the confidence and structure to help SaaS companies get value from operationalizing around the customer, not the product. Getting certified in CLG has truly elevated my approach as a growth strategist, and benefits my clients as a result.
I'm so proud of the results my team has achieved using the Customer-Led Growth Framework. They've uncovered customer insights that enabled me to align our marketing programs with the company's larger strategy, and to set ourselves up for sustainable success. We're now on track to raise a Pre-Series A round by the end of the month!
"Working with Forget The Funnel doesnât just give you rich customer insights. It provides you with actionable steps to take, critical changes to make, content, and processes to improveâall geared to improving customerâs experience and increasing the value your product provides.
My team paid tens of thousands of dollars to work with Forget The Funnel, and we earned every dollar back tenfold.â
â
Thanks for all the hard work you've put into this program. It's been an invaluable resource, and I'm grateful to be part of such a helpful community!
Today's Office Hours session was so great. It consistently blows my mind how much value this wonderful community provides to me and my work, every day.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to talk things out, bounce ideas off you all, and challenge my own assumptions! Both Gia and Claire always have a ton of follow-up questions to make me think about any problem much deeper, and investigate so much further. Thank you!
â
I met with Gia and Claire for my Power Hour last week and I've gotta say: don't sleep on it!
It was an hour of pure tactical goodness. I used my hour to talk strategies for work (marketing ideas, channels, office politics, etc.), strategies for further self-development (hello, impostor syndrome), and career advancement, as well.
The program has already helped get me to a much better place confidence-wise, and this Power Hour just magnified that. Super-duper worth it!
â
I was previously working in-house at a SaaS company, and have since started my own consulting business. In both roles, your program has been hands-down one of the best investments I've made. It's been an amazing resource: it's one of the only programs I keep referring back to over and over.
I'm a CEO and founder. My team and I decided to pivot and rebuild our product, and I invested in the program to help us develop a solid growth strategy.
While working toward our relaunch, we completely rebuilt our website, documentation, branding, and of course, go-to-market strategy. We also changed our pricing model three times based on customer feedback we gathered as a result of the program, and our newest pricing model has made a huge impact on our growth.
I want to thank Gia and Claire for this program: it was the best money I've spent!
When I started in my role at this company, one of my main objectives was to be invited to join executive meetings.
At the time, I knew almost nothing about SaaS, and Gia & Claire provided so much value. This program was the best investment I've made: I would pay the same price again, just for the mindset shift I've had.
This morning, my CEO reached out to say that he would like me to join the company executive meeting. I cannot thank you enough.
â
Being at a startup, we have to be laser-focused on where and how we spend our resources. Which is why it's a big deal that when I recently put together an SEO strategy, it impressed our founder so much that I got his full buy-in.
The program absolutely helped with this. I've been going through the videos again, and seeing the lessons and materials with fresh eyes. Thank you for such a wonderful program.
The sheer caliber of guests and knowledge shared in the FTF workshops is priceless. They have directly contributed to my career, rocketing me from a digital marketing strategist to CMO at a fintech startup, with short onboarding period and immediate impact. I highly recommend the series to any tech marketer, no matter your career level.
Huge thumbs up on yesterday's workshop! As the sole product marketer at my company, it was extremely helpful to see how other organizations are tackling product marketing, and also very reassuring to know I'm not the only one out there struggling with some of these issues.
I just accepted an offer to be Baremetrics' Head of Growth and I wanted to say thank you. Thank you, because FTF has been invaluable to me in growing and learning as a marketer. Gia and Claire and all the resources they provide have helped take me from a digital marketer with my hands in everything to leader at an amazing SaaS company.
Gia and Claire's advice is incredible, and they've built such a great community around Forget The Funnel. Even though I can't always make the live sessions, I love watching the recordings. One of the best resources I've ever found for SaaS marketing (great for beginners and old hands looking for new ideas).
Claire and Georgiana truly care about helping marketers to think about strategy first and win at their job. They love what they do and it transpires in everything they do.
Forget the Funnel fills in the gaps for marketers and makes *actual sense* out of some of the seemingly trickier pieces of our jobs. Plus, the length of each episode and the regularity of the events make it an easy win for my calendar and my attention span.
Marketing advice is too often full of fluff and BS tactics that might have worked for one person/company but doesn't really apply to you. Claire and Gia have done a great job of helping us realize there's no magic silver bullet, but a series of processes, decisions, and focus instead.
Claireâs expertise in marketing is so valuable. Bringing her on was like having an extremely experienced person join our team, but without the distractions and overhead of a full time hire.
Gia was integral to a period of growth that helped define Unbounce as a leader in our market. Her drive, dedication, attention to quality (and the details that matter), and general influence had such a significant impact on our business.
I'm loving gathering feedback from customers & leads. Not only is it informing marketing, but it's adapting our actual product UX and features, too!
I got a promotion to 'Team Lead' for Web Growth! My first action is to get our team set up on OKRs.
Before this program, Iâd been feeling a lack of someone/somewhere to go for advice and mentorship about SaaS marketing strategy. I wasnât going to get it from my CEO, who didnât have time or expertise to think about marketing needs. And itâs really hard to find good information online â thereâs so much crap content out there. This program gave me a toolkit of systems and processes to help me set the foundation of our marketing. The group setting made me feel less alone, and I gained more confidence and a more realistic sense of my strengths and weaknesses. I hadnât realized before that I was being too hard on myself â that was transformative. Finally, I got my promotion to Director of Marketing! I now have data, insights, and a planning framework that I can use to set our strategy, plus so many learnings I canât wait to share with my company.
I joined my company as the only marketing employee. There were no senior staff members who could train me, and I was just getting up to speed on the world of SaaS in general. I was struggling to develop a high-level marketing strategy, communicate with the engineering team, and get buy-in. Now, I have more confidence than ever in my ability to be a leader â and other people see it, too. My boss trusts that Iâm getting the job done, and I no longer need to confirm all my work. Iâve been officially brought into senior staff meetings, and got a promotion đ
After completing this program, my CEO has taken more notice of my work, and heâs challenged me to continue performing at this new level. My boss has been really impressed with the strategic lens Iâve put on things, and I even have better working relationships with other departments, who I previously had interacted with very little.
Before this program, I was so overwhelmed. This is my first time leading a marketing team, and Iâd been tasked with rebranding, creating new product messaging, and building a completely new site. Plus, Iâm under a lot of pressure to increase the revenue that Marketing creates. I needed guidance, or some sort of plan, on how to tackle everything. It helped me build a strong foundation to expand our lead gen and nurture programs, and it helped me build trust with our leadership team. Now, weâre on track to reach our website launch goal, we have messaging that matches what our product *really* does for people, and Iâve been able to create brand guidelines that everyone in leadership actually agrees on!
âAdoption was okay, but it was time to really kickstart & level up.â
"Working with Claire & Gia was invaluable in identifying who our best customers are and how to reach and resonate with more of them. Working with them doesnât just give you rich customer insights. It provides you with actionable steps to take, critical changes to make, content and processes to improveâall geared toward improving customersâ experience and increasing the value your product provides."
âOur product replaces an old way of hiring with a better, automated way. I was selling it easily in 1:1 meetings, but our website was falling flat. We knew we were onto something big, but we needed to figure out how to package our product on the website.â
