Building Brand Alignment

Lesson

5

After running your brand sprint at your company, it’s time pull everything together into a high-level brand guide for your company.

You’ll collect feedback, get the final approval you need and distribute the guide throughout your company. This will help to build a shared understanding and foundational resource to ensure all future marketing efforts tie back to company goals.

  1. Pull all of the notes from your brand sprint together and narrow them all down into one answer for each of the 6 exercises. You can use the High Level Brand Guidelines Template.
  2. Sanity check your work with a close colleague (if applicable) and gather feedback on your draft from those involved in the sprint (leave your boss out for now).
  3. Once your final draft is ready (ie. you’d publish as is) send it to your boss for final approval. Confirm that you will distribute the guide internally and serve as the point-person moving forward.
  4. (Optional) Have your brand guide polished by a designer, package the final product into a PDF. See "TeamUp Brand Guidelines Example" in the Resources below for inspiration.
  5. Distribute the guide internally, clarifying how the guide should be used and making yourself available for questions (as the steward of your company’s brand).
